Photoshop Elements

I find that I only use a very limited set of functions in Photoshop.

Does anyone have experience of using Photoshop Elements?

Does it allow full sue of layers and masks and the associated tools?

My old version didn't do layers directly but there was a workaround, the main issue was that it was only 8bit, not sure what the latest version is like.

A good alternative is Affinity Photo, does everything PS can do plus its easy to get into.

I've got Paint Shop Pro, which is easier to use and nicer, but I can't get plugins and actions to work with it. I know the plugins should work, but not actions.
