Scorpius in New Zealand

Another view of colourful Scorpius. This time a bit closer.

I strapped the Canon to the loan orange C8 with a couple of bungees, and used the mount's RA drive. A bit unorthodox I know!

Canon 350D 38mm lens approx 10 mins of 60 secs subs @ 800 ISO F 6.3.

I'm having to paste reduced size images into SGL, as my broadband in NZ doesn't seem to like UK Asronomers for some reason.

Its certainly 'washing out' the sky here in W.Aus at the moment.

Yes there was a good bright moon when I took the image. I was surprised it didn't make more difference to the image. The colour's certainly not 'washed out' - I didn't even have to increase the colour saturation.
