Excellent. As well as being a serious genius he was also a playful wit. In all his writing for the public he debunks entirely the kind of bad school science which says, 'We used to think this but now we know that.' In everything he wrote the unknown, the mysterious, the unreasonable and the incomprehensible were kept alive and present. His writing evokes the unstable frontier between the explicable and the inexplicable.

I like his enthusiasm, his originality, his intellectual integrity and his big red books. I also like the very notion of a Nobel Laureate with a 'gangster accent'.

I didn't discover him until after his death but he left such a wealth material it didn't seem that way.
