Hello! I purchased the Nikon D3400 box set from Costco which includes 2 lens: AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR and AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G ED. Additionally, I bought a tripod and another lens: a NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D. I want to start taking some good images of the night sky and just learn the basics. I’m not sure where to start with the equipment I have. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Initially use the 18-55mm lens, set to 18mm and take a 20-30 second exposure at ISO 1600 toward the milky way in the sky... that will reveal a lot of unseen sky detail...

When you want to expand from that, download a copy of either Nebulosity from Stark Labs or Deep Sky Stacker, take a series of photos of the sky in a similar fashion to what I mentioned above and stack the frames....

That would be a good start into astrophotography...
