Super moon, mini scope

Recommended Posts

Gone then, I may as well submit this one.

Just shows you don't need anything fancy to get an image of the moon. This was take through my little TAL Alkor which is a 65mm Newtonian (yes, really!) it is f7.7 I believe, this was taken using the only eyepiece it comes with, and the barlow, giving x88 mag.

Usual drill i.e. ProCam 4 software to take the image. I stuck the ISO to 29, focused the scope with my glasses on, and then just adjusted the shutter speed to get the best exposure.

Cropped and processed on the phone using PS Express to bring out the detail more. I was pleased to see the craters Neper and Riemann right on the tiny terminator, plus Mare Smythii. You can also see Messier and Messier A in Mare Fecunditatis.
