iansmith
Hello, Below is an image of the planetary nebula NGC 7048 taken from my backyard observatory in Swindon. This is another bi colour image using Ha and O3 filters from Astrodon. Acquisition details: Over November and December 2017: 24x600s Ha and 24x600s O3 images all at 2x2 binning. I thought I'd see how the 2x2 binning would work out, now I have had some practice. On the whole I think its come out at least as well as my unbinned images and has the advantage of doubling the SNR. I think this is probably the way forward for me in future. These have been combined as Red: 100% Ha, Green: 50% Ha & 50% O3, Blue: 100% O3. Comments and criticism welcome, please let me know what you think and where I can improve. Cheers, Ian.
sloz1664
You've got some nice detail there Ian. It looks as if NGC 7048 is floating above the rest of the image. I've been contemplating an Astrodon 3nm for a while now. Let's see what 2018 brings Steve
