I suspect the cool down and weight of the TSA would be the principle differences. Maybe the only tangible differences ?:

I was very interested in a TSA 102 at the time I bought the Tak FC-100DL but the cool down and weight were what swayed me towards what has proved to be a real "grab and go" scope. The FC doublets hardly need any cool down at all.

John, how do the tubes thickness compare with SW ED? (I presume the Equinox is thicker). Asking this as quick cool down times usually mean less metal & potential being more prone to accidental damage.

The Tak tube seems as robust as my Vixen and ED120. There is nothing flimsy or insubstantial about it. The finish of the tube is superior to the Vixen (which is very good) and in a different league to the ED120 (which is admittedly rather old now).

The FC-100DL weighs about the same as the Vixen FL102 I believe.
