Schröter's Valley, Herodotus and Aristarchus

Recommended Posts

This is an image of Schröter's Valley along with Herodotus and Aristarchus (north is diagonal towards the bottom left) - taken on 1st Nov 2017 at 2333UT. There's hints of the rille in the valley, but the sharpness has become a little lost in the seeing here. There's also Rima Aristarchus VIII extending down to the left, and some smaller rille (Prinz I/II) near the partial crater Prinz to the left.

ASI120MM, 350mm f4.6 with 2x barlow, IR742 filter. Stack of best 12% of 5000 frames, processed in Autostakkert and Registax 6.

Conditions were distinctly average, and only started to improved as it misted out! At least I managed to get something, and it is first light of sorts with the rebuilt double truss scope, but probably would have been better off going without the barlow and making a mosaic - just couldn't quite get this any sharper!
