Fits and tiffs

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've decided to give apt a try tonight so I can dither (as artemis doesn't) and noticed it saves my images as fits files. But all my calibration frames are tiff files. Will this cause any issues when stacking?  Am I going to need a new set of calibration files?

Thanks

I did try it but for some reason when loading fits files into DSS there's loads of black lines running horizontaly through them. I downloaded fits liberator and just converted them to TIFFS. To be fair, even though it was forecast for a clear night all night, I only managed to get 2 1200sec subs.

Last night was ever so slightly better, I managed 6 900sec subs. Even though it was forecast to be clear. And guess what, tonight is forecast for a clear night and now the clouds are rolling in.

I need to move to somewhere without a bipolar weather system.
