Does anyone know if its alright to use a dab of t-cut or car polish to remove minor scratches from a telecope with a powder coat finish?

My Star71 has a couple of small scratches on its dew shield and I'd like to tidy them up a little bit. Thats the problem with powder coats, they really are fragile things.

Or should I just leave it alone? (as battle scars or "character"...lol)
