Hi,

After a long period away from the forum & astronomy in general I've been reeled back in.

I sold all my gear over a year ago as my attempts at imaging using unsuitable kit led to severe disappointmental.

This time around I'm looking at starting with the right kit. So I know the HEQ5 pro coupled with  a Skywatcher ED80  (with focal reducer) is a tried & tested combo.

The advice I'm after is regarding camera, I'm moving away from a DSLR due to too much faff (for me) I'm quite interested in the Altair hypercam 183, my budget for the camera is around £700 & I will be guiding at some point although undecided on the guide camera type.

Any thoughts/advice on my suggested set up would be well appreciated.

Steve

Welcome back Steve.

ZWO Cameras seem to be a good starting point with your budget, again depends on how much faffing you can deal with, ie One shot colour/Mono/ filter etc.

hth a bit.
