Ok, Im looking at these wonderful CLS clips filters by Astronomik. I notice there are two versions, the Non-IR/UV blocked and the IR-UV blocked. On the Modern Astronomy site it says that the IR/UV blocked version is ideal for CCD & DSLR cameras. Am I right in thinking that this is only the case if your DSLR is modded?

Mine is the unmodded 400D, so I presume it is already IR blocked and I should get the non IR/UV blocked clip?

Cheers

Matt

If you have a modded camera that has the sensor filter removed and replaced with a clear glass (to retain the autofocus) you will need a CLS filter that has a UV/IR cut response. If you have a replacement sensor filter that allows Ha through it, you will only need the standard CLS Clip filter although the other type would also work with it.

Kevin
