mount control problem

:oops: Hi all i have a lxd55 goto mount with the 497 control and auto star suite and bought the cable to update and control the telescope from astronomiser but i cant get the scope to talk to my pc can anyone help? :crybaby:

Are you using a serial to USB converter? Also, have you downloaded the Ascom driver.

Hi i am using the meade equvalent cable with the nine pin on one end and rj on telescope end i downloaded the update program to update the handset switched on handset and chose download on handset pluged one end into handset the other into my desktop 9 pin port but it would not conect,ps is the ascom driver a sperate driver and nothing to do with autostar?sorry this is my first goto.nige :oops:

Have you got Autostar Update panel on your screen?

Have you downloade the Updater from Meade. Is it on your computer, or do you not have it?

ok, If you go to options at the very top of the screen, There is one called set com port. When your cable is plugged in, click set com port, then select the option Auto detect, it should then detect the com port your cable needs.
