Around Alnitak

Hello,

Yestaerday night I was at 1500m without much light pollution with my 250mm dob, so I managed to sketch the horsehead nebula!

Fabulous!!! Very well done!

It's a year since I looked at that region and using only a 100mm scope it took me quite some time to soak up the subtle nebulosity of the flame nebula around Alnitak. The nebula extending away from Alnitak, IC434, was very wraith like. I didn't see the Horse Head but thought I could detect a tiny notch where it is supposed to be. I think it took me 30 to 60 minutes to see it well. Your Superb sketch is very close to my own.
