Pixinsight Star Alignment stopped working ???

I have been using PI StarAlignment regularly and never had any issues.

I have just tried to align my RGB stack with my Lum by selecting the lum as the reference image and dragging the triangle onto the RBG image and it throws an error message that it cant find stars!

I have fiddled with all the settings I can find to no avail.

See screendump - any ideas ??  There are LOTS of stars !!!

Your screen looks like mine, except I don't have 'Generate masks' ticked.

It's not saying it can't find any stars, just that there are no star pair matches. This is probably because you don't have any target images specified. Put the colour image in the box and apply the process globally.
