Saturn 3rd July

Recommended Posts

Spent half an hour with Saturn tonight at about 19 degrees alt. Seeing was much better than this afternoon with the sun and not a cloud in sight. At 112x with the 8mm she was crisp and clear, the Cassini division clearly visible and just plain captivating. I popped in the 2x Barlow and while not as sharp still stunning. The A and B rings slightly differing in colour and the planet also showing subtle colour variations. Also at 112x I'm confident I saw 2 satellites too.

I have to say my best views of Saturn yet. Can't wait until she's placed for optimum viewing.

Clear skies.
