Using Synscan Handset on EQ-6?

Hi, I've managed to pick up an older EQ6 for a reasonable price (black). Currently I have a Skywatcher goto az mount with a v3 Synscan handset. My question is can I upgrade the az handset to eq? Will it work with my EQ6 or would it need modifications?

Unless the mount has been upgraded to goto using the Synscan goto upgrade kit then no you won't be able to use the handset with the EQ6.
