sirjab
I wanted to find out if anyone knows of a alternative mount for the Celestron 6Se that might be more stable. I am looking for one that will also accomondate the wedge
kendg
I changed from the 6SE mount to the az-eq6. It's a lot more stable just maybe not the answer you are looking for.
glowjet
If you are into a little DIY, to make an adaptive base mount for the scope, you can look into obtaining an s/h surveyors tripod from the bay. Extremely solid mounts, one in reasonable condition can be had from between £20 and £30. Most of the modern ones are in alloy, but some of the older wood ones, similar to the Berlebach sold by FLO, can sometimes be expensive, but make a very stable base; if you can get hold of one at a reasonable price
