42mm EP

I miss my Tal 42mm EP. Had to go because it didn’t fit the new focuser. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced 1.25’’ alternative?

I doubt it'd be worth your buying one. The 1.25" barrel restricts the FOV on eyepieces over 25mm so you'd see very little benefit over your existing 32mm. (They can be useful however for afocal imaging).
