M51 with a bright Moon

10 x 60 second lights and 5 Darks.  Skywatcher 200P-DS, Canon 1D MkIII.  Taken on the 14th May with a very bright moon

Nice catch! The bright moon makes DS astrophotography near impossible, so it's great that you managed to capture this target.

You may have overstretched the image, and lost detail in the core of the galaxy.

I'm still learning a lot on post processing so it is nice to know what I maybe did and gone to far with the sliders

I don't think it's hugely over stretched (a bit in the cores, yes) but I'm sure the black point is clipped. Always go easy on bringing in the black point.
