Stiff Porta II mount slow motion controls.

Hello,

I have a Vixen Porta II mount which I use with a 80mm ED refractor. There are 2 Issues:

1) The slow motion controls are really stiff. I remember using such a mount at a star party and I don't recall It being this way. Is there is a way to improve it somehow? Should I loose some bolts? Or the grease needs to be replaced?

2) Another problem I've already read about - the slow motion control knobs fall off all the time. Is there any solution for that?

You can adjust the tension in the slow motion controls - see page 12 of the user guide:
