eqmod numeric keypad not working

Hi. I'd like to be able to use my laptop numeric keypad to slew and nudge but even though the eqmod slewpad window is focused, the 2, 4, 6 and 8 arrow keys do nothing. The gamepad configuration has all the slew options greyed. I've tried pressing the num-lock and still nada.

Is it possible to use the numeric keypad? TIA.
