Orion and Orion Optics - same or different?

Are Orion (www.oriontelescopes.com) and Orion Optics UK (www.orionoptics.co.uk) owned by the same parent company with same or similar products - or are they completely independent of each other and just happen to have both used the name Orion.

I'm thinking they've got nothing to do with each other - but just wanted to check.

Your thinking is correct . Orion UK and Orion US are two different companies.

What an amazing coincidence then that two astronomy company's would have gone with the name Orion! I wonder where they came up with that idea from?
