I'm an astronomer babe!

No problem in my own home. When feeding the Cat next door, I
learned to carry a torch. "Initial" light switches are not always where
you expect them? The "scented candles" survived collision tho! :p

I got quite used to (country) walks after dark. Amazing how much
residual moon / star light (light pollution) there is left to navigate!
Of course, such ideas fail when you get stuck in the "Woods" when
darkness falls... Not to mention missing the edge of plank bridges
and falling into brick-lined culvets? Again, good to carry a torch? :D

As we Astronomers come to realise, darkness and *silence* allows
one to see and *anticipate* the approach of many "dangers"? Da
"Bad peoples" tend to avoid out of the way and/or dark places. ;)

P.S. I think we humans have SOME ability to make a mental map
of familiar surroundings. Totally *blind* Cats are able to live with
no problem in their own home. My almost totally blind Grandad
somehow managed to find the way to his "blokes club" in town.
Maybe escape from my (Nora Batty-ish) Grandma was incentive.
