Recommended Posts

Hello first time post. The question is I just purchased an old Celestron nexstar 4gt go to telescope.  I been reading about it and have read that there can be big problems if you don't use the right power cord. Would some one please inform me as to the right cord to purchase and where to purchase it.  thank you all  Bob

Quote from the Celestron website:

Whatever power source you choose, the correct connector to attach to the scope has an inside diameter of 2.1mm and an outside diameter of 5.5mm with positive (+) on the inside conductor.

2.5mm inside diameter is much more common and provides a loose connection that causes MANY problems in the operation of the scope.

12v, and 1.5 to 2 Amps should do it.

USA Celestron dealers, Amazon, the Bay etc
