Remote USB switching

I need a method of remotely switching a 12V power supply on or off via USB, and whilst I know some fancy Arduino circuitry would do I just want a simple option. The power is to supply to the cooling fans and the internal heaters on my ODK12. I dropped across this Sainsmart 4-way servo block http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281002958856 which appears to do the job, just wondered if anyone had used it for anything?

Hi Chris,

There is a USB breakout board from Velleman http://www.velleman.co.uk/contents/en-uk/p303.html that comes with a small Windows control program and an API if you want to write your own drivers. The board doesn't have any relays but it has around 8 open-collector outputs that can drive the Sainsmart relay board.

Regards, Hugh
