focusser help

Recommended Posts

Eh up all,

There's nowt really wrong with the focusser fitted as standard to my celestron nexstar 130 SLT, but I quite like the idea of making the odd improvement where I can. I'm aware the scope is built to a price, and of course that's why I chose this one, but I'd like to fettle it a bit.

Anyone with any experience of this, and can ya make recommendations?

Obliged to you...

There is this that I found some time back, it is on the GSO crayford but aspects may be applicable, and it may cover over aspects.

Usually I think it amounts to strip then units, clean the gunk, check that the friction plate is flat, set everything up as it should have been in an ideal world.

Almost a common sense approach.

Just make sure you get a number of small containers for the assorted items, try a budget shop for the packs of 3 containers (round or square).
