Low budget telescope vs DSLR only?

Mike, I must say your Orion wide field is impressive, especially considering the LP conditions.

This makes my problems trying to capture Orion small: it doesn't clear the trees at my site. I'm currently taking care of this with the help of a good neighbour and his chainsaw

Unfortunately I only have a 2 hour window to image Orion.

A neighbours tree and two houses get in the way and of course Orion is in

the big orange light dome of the South Coast towns.
