Paul i don't think you can i wanted to do this but i got the XLT150 from Hinds the CG-4 is alot better tripod wise and you also get a synta style dovetail holder hth.

That's a shame Mik, it's a pity you can't buy just the mount. I like the way you can mix and match Skywatcher's mount/OTA's, why not Celestron ?.

Oh well back to the drawing board, the CG-5 is an option at £205 but is more than I really want to spend.

You could just get an EQ5 steel tube tripod and use it with the eq3-2 mount - I used to have that combination and the mount was much more stable than with the aluminumn legs. The EQ3-2 and the EQ5 have the same tripod fitting. I think the EQ5 tripods cost around £50.
