AZ-EQ5 cable wrap

Hi All,

AZ-EQ5 mount - the cable that connects the RA and DEC motors seems very short considering the damage that could be caused by forgetting where you are!  Is it possible to limit the slew so that the cable doesn't get torn out? Or, can a longer cable be bought or made?  If I were to have a go at making my own does anyone know the name of the connector type I should look for? (I'm ok with using a soldering iron!)

You can set slew limits on some alt/az synscan handsets. If you have the facility it will be in the "Setup" menu under "Elev Limits". I don't think you need it in EQ mode - but who knows SW's thinking logic - which can sometimes be baffling. Hope that helps
