hello ,am in the process of buying a skywatcher 127 goto for christmas.i only joined the forum yesterday

so you will be seeing me on the forum quite a bit asking for help and advice.

i see a few of the skywatcher 127 owners on this forum have bought a gso 32mm plossi eyepiece besides the ones supplied, the 10mm and 25mm.

could you tell me please what advantage this eyepiece will add as i might order this eyepiece when ordering the scope.

thanks

The 32mm plossl will give you a low power eyepiece that will show the maximum field of view that can be seen with the 127mm mak-cassegrain - around 1.1 degrees of sky.

No need to pay too much for this though. You should be able to get one for around £30.00.

I'd not rush into buying lots of accessories for the scope until you have tried it out a few times though. Once you have some experience with it your choices will be better informed

Read this thread here about eyepieces although don't take it as a bible. Some very good points in there but most people find their own perfect collection. Still a great guide.http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/43171-eyepieces-the-very-least-you-need/

Also read this, I think its essential and most people would agree, good luck with the new scope :-) http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/196278-what-can-i-expect-to-see/
