help with a meade Ls 6 ASF

If you're managing to point at the moon manually I would leave the autoalign for another day.

The focus knob on these scopes take tens of turns to go from one end of the range to another,

So using the longest focal length eyepiece you have (eg 26mm not 9mm) try pointing at a distant streetlight  and don't be afraid to turn the focus many turns until the light is in focus.

Then go back to the moon and fine-tune.
