An imager learning new tricks...

After solely pursuing imaging for several years, I have obtained a dobsonian for some visual observing.

With a brief clear spell last night, gave it a run out. Managed to find some of the more obvious targets by star hopping, m57, m27, ngc 6960, ngc 6992, ngc 6888, m13, ngc 7635, m31, m110 and so on.

What really helped with some of the dimmer ones, apart from an oiii filter, was that I recognised some distinctive star cluster patterns from having imaged them, and used them to centre the object.

Looking forward to using this at a dark site very soon.
