Defective BST 27mm?

I bumped my head a little on my EP when observing. The EP suddenly seemed loose. I know the part (nosepiece?) that goes in the focuser screws in to the EP body. I thought I could just tighten it, but when I tried, the two pieces separated. On closer inspection the threads of the 2 items don't quite match as if the nosepiece was slightly undersized. The thread pitch seems right. Looking in, it appears the factory had put a small spot of super glue to hold them together. Agena will take it back. Is this sort of thing common?

Do you mean a 25mm? I didn't know they did 27mm?

I would not think its common, if Agena will replace I would not hesitate in returning the eyepiece.
