Speeding up work flow- Mono & colour cameras working together

I'm always thinking of new ways to speed up work flow particulary when working with RGB data

I like the convenience of an OSC camera but hate the typical lower sensitivity. I love the definition given by filters but again they have there follies.

What if you had 2 cameras of the same model but mono & OSC versions.

Is it viable to shoot the colour with the RGB & the L with the mono. I read that colour information is far less demanding than the L data-not sure how true this statement is or the ins & outs.

It would be useful to get the forums view on this proposed way of processing data.

Sounds like a good idea,i run two identical mono cameras,which enables me to do narrowband as well as LRGB.

Just wish I got an occasional clear sky to run them.
