Astronomy groups near Retford (Bassetlaw Astronomical Society)?

Hi all, 

I've recently moved area and thus my previous astronomy group is a little too far! I've been thinking about joining any local groups that might be in the area. I live in Lound, Retford (DN22 area) and I've recently taken the plunge into getting my first proper scope. Would be fantastic to get to meet people invested in the hobby. 

I've seen Bassetlaw Astronomical Society is very close, are any of you kind folk members? 

I know astronomers are a real friendly bunch, I wouldn't want to turn up randomly or commit any kind of social faux pas in regards to registering first or having to be referred by an existing member.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated
