Observation log/recording

Hiya,

I've been thinking about making an iOS app for recording my observing sessions (purely for my own use, but then I thought it might be useful for others, too). Not being a software developer as such, I thought I'd have a go using Filemaker, and the native (and free) iOS app 'Filemaker go'. I made a start this morning, and would appreciate any feedback. You'll need an iOS device and a copy of Filemaker go (free from the app store). Or a copy of Filemaker 12 (at least) on your desktop. Here's a link to the data file (with a couple of observation records): https://www.dropbox.com/s/mddmgxzk79izy9n/Observing%20log.fmp12?dl=0

Currently it only includes the Messier objects and planets, but I do plan to make it more comprehensive.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

Cheers,

Kev

Hi again,

Well, for what it's worth, I've persevered with my observing log 'app' for iOS. It now includes Solar system objects, Messiers, Caldwells, NGCs and named stars. The above link should still work, and you'll still need to have the iOS app 'Filemaker Go' installed on your device.

Cheers,

Kev.
