May 8, 2015: Early glimpses in H-alpha

Recommended Posts

Today the sky is sporting that most annoying mixture of things cloud cover with the odd tiny gap (which still has thick haze). I got out the SolarMax 60 and had a quick look. The filament train in the south is slowly going over the western limb, and showing off some stunning filaproms in the process. Some more proms are to its north. AR12339 is putting on a great show in the east, and the limb nearby keeps showing proms, suggesting something else is lurking beyond the limb. I do not think the skies will clear enough for imaging, but I will try to find some more gaps to look through.

Nice report Michael, still no good here I am afraid. With lots of rain, wind or simply grey cloud cover.

Mind you the grass and plants are enjoying it and they are growing at an incredible rate
