celestron nextstar 6se

hi everyone, i have just pucrhased a nextstar 6se, and a message poped up on the hand set when i turned it on  saying invalid pkg 0002.  and the scope wont do anything  !!!!! any one know what this means

Failing that, return it to your supplier as its brand new.

If new return it to the retailer and get another.

The fault will be in the firmware and it is not booting up correct.

Usually it is necessary to update the handset and motor boards, you download a thing called CFM from the Celestron site. Celestron Firmware Manager. Not sure about the rest but that is the start.

You will need a USB to Serial cable that works, about half do and half don't.

Thing is I suspect that if new and you try it yourself then you invalidate any warrenty.

I don't own a Celestron and I know what is required. :grin:

Which is pretty bad when you think about it. :rolleyes:
