What is a 'short barlow' and what, if any are the implications for imaging with a webcam (ZWO ASI 120MC)?

I am currently using a WO GT81 + x2 barlow and, if practical,  would like to push the magnification, so was thinking about a x3 barlow or even a Powermate.  What power rating would my set-up take.  I ask specifically about the short barlow as they seem to come up and just wondered if they can still be used fro my needs. Thanks
