Guest telescope4u
Anyone used a modified Toucam III yet?I know the pro version isn't out yet, but it still looks like a half decent CCD chip.CheersDamien
russ
Hi Damien,I did some digging on the Toucam Pro III (aka SPC900NC) and it's quite a let down:It's only USB2.0 compatible but not actually USB 2.0.Uses the same chip as the previous Toucam Pro'sthe lens apparently isn't easy to removeSo from an astro imagers point of view little point in holding off for one, just get the Toucam Pro II while theyare still around at a good price. I recently got one from Dabs for £37. Which is cheaper than the SPC700NC (equiv of the old Toucam Fun II) which only uses a CMOS chip.Shame on Philips...definitely not worth the wait.....roll on Toucam Pro IV and make it a decent upgrade Philips :xRuss
AstroTiger
thank you for that, i am in the market for one, but thought i would wait for the Toucam III. Now i think i will by the II while they are still being produced.Al
