Skywatcher Evostar 80ED DS-Pro

Can someone tell we the weight of the 80ED ota with the rings and dovetail? I have heard its 2Kg ish but just want to be sure before I get one so if someone can actually weight it that would be great. Also does the dovetail supplied come with a photographic threaded hole or would I need to sort out a better fitting as that wouldn't be man enough?

Hi Phil,

Just weighed my ED80... it is 3.25Kg without Diagonal and eyepiece.

The supplied dovetail does have several several 1/4" threaded holes which are suitable for photographic mount, but I would not rely on this alone.

Better to have a Quick release 'Losmondy" or 'Manfrotto' type sole plate attached if you want to use it with a photographic tripod.
