Thought I'd share this with anyone interested, I was amazed by the view, even though it pales against some of your efforts.

Well done to get that!  The Sun (or rather the atmosphere!) was not playing ball today making any sort of imaging difficult.

Thanks Bizi, I'm not sure quite what I expected, but was somehow captivated by the ability to stare at the amazing orb.

Nice first shot, very good for an afocal shot. Welcome to the Solar Soldiers! It is great to add daytime observing to your hobby. It doubles your chances of getting a peek through the scope, and the sun is always fascinating.

Thanks Michael, it's a revelation to be able to step outside and see at least two solar bodies in the day, but of course I'm now intrigued by the incredible views of the sun through Hydrogen Alpha eyepieces like the Daystar Quark I've seen you chaps mention.

Alas, the cost is more than the value of my scope... do you recommend any more cost effective ways of seeing what you do in HA?
