Hi

I currently own a celestron slt 127 and a nikon D60 dslr,

I live in light polluted SE London so being pragmatic, I am looking at the moon, sun and planets, no deep space stuff - at the moment - and realise I would need a different mount etc for that.

Anyhow, I have a bit of money, do I go for a T ring and adapter and use my DSLR or a cheap / reasonable priced "other" devise. If so what is recommended?

Also I have just upgraded my desktop which I intended to use for registax etc but won't be able to connect this direct to the scope, unless anybody knows were I can get a 30m cable!

Any thoughts most welcome on this rainy night

You can buy an USB 2.0 to 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter and cat.5 ethernet cable plus 2 RJ45 connector. That would be cheap and you could go up to 100m I think.

For the camera I find that this works better than T ring

True-2 2" UltraWide Prime Focus Telescope Adapters

with a Baader 2" SCT Click-Lock Eyepiece Adapter / Visual Back

Very tight and secure for the camera and easy to use with the click lock !

My 2 cents.
