iridium flare???

at about 10ish or half 9, i was yawning and lookin up at ursa major with naked eye waiting for my optics to cool.

when out of the blue, literally a bright blue flash shot across the saucepan bit and winked out. lasted bout 4 seconds if that. i was wondering if this is what is described as an iridium flare?

yeah went on there myself mate as soon as i got in.

any ideas what it could be???

first guess would be a Meteor they burn up in different colours according to what elements they are made of as in blue may suggest Cobalt for instance ??
