Thought i would post this just for fun. its a 50 min block of comet Jaques moving against the sky. It travels a total of 76,000 miles in the 50 minutes of capture.

Hope you enjoy.

Here are links to the animations, they are too large to post:

wow that animation is amazing!

how did you create the animation? id love to try something like this, just can not seem to pull myself away from DSO imaging tho

I used Photoshop CS2 to create these. I took 20 X 150sec frames of the comet. The trick i used to process, was to process one image while i recorded the steps to create an action in photoshop. once i had one shot to my liking, i ran a batch action on all the frames. this ensured they would all be processed the exact same. I then put each frame in its own layer, in the order that the animation would run, and used the animation tool to time it to my liking and create the gif.

on a side note, i was in the middle of a DSO imaging session. I found myself waiting about an hour for my next object to rise high enough in the sky when i remembered this comet. So i looked up its coordinance, and got this data in 50 min. im glad i did. it was the first comet i have ever imaged :)

thank you for the comment
