Iridium 67 - Flare at Mag -3

Recommended Posts

Just a quick experiment... Used the 40mm pancake at f/2.8. Seems to have worked rather well, and the sky is so much lighter. There's a little CA and vignetting but the star shapes look pretty good to me... Stopping it down to f/3.2 will probably resolve most of that. I reckon this is going to work really well for wide fields.

The 410 geared head made lining up the satcatcher much easier... I don't know quite why the flare is showing almost magenta... It doesn't look like that in editing... so might be jpg compression or something to do with the way flickr is displaying it.
