Getting a platform for a dob - UK

Hey

Does anyone know a european-UK supplier of round table tracking platforms? I'm looking to get one for my 12" LB. I know that roundtableplatforms.com ships internationally, but if it breaks the I'll be stuffed.

Anyone got one?

The platform was 3 months late arriving but I'd rather the guy take his time and get it right than rush it out. Brian Read from Roundtables is a nice fella but I got the impression he works when he's in the mood to work.

Heres the total price breakdown at 2006 prices:

Platform 28-inch $609.00

Shipping to UK $168.60

Paypal +4% international fee $31.10

Customs charge $193

Grand total: $1001 USD = ~£500

Not that bad then - is the size you got suitable for bigger scope when the fever hits?

Yep, it'll take up to a 18" Dob. The larger sizes don't cost much more and I thought "why not?".

btw, how are those Hyperions working for you? I'm thinking of adding the 13/17 and an 8 for my 12" LB

I really can't fault them for the money, they work great at f4.5. A little coma at the edges but you have to look for it to see it most of the time. Looking back the only thing I'd consider again is that I've bought 7 Hyperions at (say) £70 a time for £500, maybe adding a little extra and getting 3 or 4 S/H Panoptics would have been another option?
