Hi,

I did this last night when the clouds eventually left me but forgot about the Moon. Transparency was below average too and a lot of moisture in the air as the Moon looked a yellowish colour . This won't win any prizes but  better to get out and do something than watch the X-factor with my dear wife.

I used the " newly"  aquired and very well used Atik 383L for the first time and after a few teething problems it worked as advertised, what an FOV this camera has. For some reason I couldn't get the filer box to sit 100% orthogonal to the light path ( those thin Derlin spacers perhaps ) and this is evident in the halos around the brighter stars.

WO Star 71, Atik 383L+, Baader UHC-s L Booster on HEQ5 and PHD guiding.  11 X 900s with calibration frames. Stacked and processed in PI and PS.

Thanks for looking,

A.G

The wo star 71 seems to be giving you a very good flat field. Any idea what could be causing the halos?

E.

I am not sure as the last 2 tests were pretty halo free. The difference this time was the UHC filter, the camera and also the air being vey moist with a lot of thin haze. I do have very poor sky here and this is not the first time that I have ended up with halos.

PS: Does anyone know where I could get some high purity Argon Gas for purging the chamber from? I have a feeling that inside of the chamber of this camera needs to be purged with gas . Thanks for your help in advance.
