Double stars in Delphinus

I have had the Sissy Haas double star book for several years and have not given it justice. I have now decided to use the book rather than a general double star list. Will pick an individual constellation to study on a particular night and try and view the various doubles with the help of the Cambridge Double Sky Atlas.

I made the decision last night to use the Astro Tech f6.95 frac together with the Pentax zoom (6.5mm -19.5mm) and a Baader Hyperion barlow 2.25x to increase the mag where necessary. I had some successes and a few failures which I might return to view with the 180mm Mak/Cass.

Success

STF2690 - sep 17.3"

K Del - sep 34.7"

STF2725 - sep 6.1" in the same field as Gamma Del

Gamma Del - 9.1" certainly a showcase pair

STF2735 - sep 1.9" - I needed to use 245x to split

STF2738 - sep 14.9" and 209.8" - a nice pair with one having a companion.

Failed to split 13 Del with the 1.5" sep and Beta Del with a 0.6".

Whilst in the area had a nice view of NGC6934 GC but could not see NGC7006 a fainter GC.

Clouds came over about midnight so grabbed the 20x80 binos to have a view of the Comet.

So I have started to use the book and I will see how it goes.
